Application for University Fellowship
Please Note: Deadline is April 15, 2008, at 4 p.m.
If you received a fellowship last year, you must re-apply for this year. There is no automatic renewal. You may receive a fellowship for a maximum of three years. You must be in residence on the Bloomington campus the year the award is received. Chancellor's Fellowship Scholars or Chancellor's Minority Scholars are not eligible.
Criteria for Doctoral Students Enrolled in First Year
- GPA in the doctoral program is 3.6 or higher.
- Master's degree awarded.
- 6 credit hours completed at IU in doctoral program.
- Course prescription approved.
- Active involvement in ongoing research with a faculty member, other graduate students, or their own research. Student's advisor will be required to verify the research participation as presented on the school of HPER University Fellowship application.
- The advisor's signature is required.
Criteria for Doctoral Students Enrolled in Second Year
- GPA in the doctoral program is 3.6 or higher.
- Master's degree awarded.
- Course prescription approved.
- Students are expected to have been involved in research activities as evidenced by research articles submitted, abstracts submitted, presentations at professional conferences (on and off campus), grant(s) applied for, grant(s) received, etc. Applicant must provide evidence of a minimum of two research contributions.
- The advisor's signature is required.

Criteria for Doctoral Students Enrolled in Third Year
- GPA in the doctoral program is 3.6 higher.
- Master's degree awarded.
- Student admitted to candidacy.
- Students are expected to have been involved in research activities as evidenced by research articles submitted, abstracts submitted, presentations at professional conferences (on and off campus), grant(s) applied for, grant(s) received, etc. Applicant must provide evidence of a minimum of two research contributions.
- The advisor's signature is required.
Criteria for Doctoral Students Enrolled in Fourth Year
- GPA in the doctoral program is 3.6 or above.
- Master's degree awarded.
- Student admitted to candidacy.
- Dissertation proposal meeting completed.
- Students are expected to have been involved in research activities as evidenced by research articles submitted, abstracts submitted, presentations at professional conferences (on and off campus), grant(s) applied for, grant(s) received, etc. Applicant must provide evidence of a minimum of two research contributions.
- The advisor's signature is required.
