AHS Recognizes Local Public Health Professionals
HPER’s Department of Applied Health Sciences has recognized four public health professionals for their outstanding service to the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation. Health educators Penny Caudill and Mary Lowery, and environmental health sanitarians Sylvia Garrison and Dennis Williamson have been officially recognized for outstanding efforts in providing service learning and internship opportunities to graduate students.

Dr. Mohammed Torabi, departmental chair, also presented a plaque to the Deputy Director of Monroe County Health Department, Bob Schmidt, for his department’s support of HPER faculty, students and staff in their efforts to promote the health and well being of Monroe County residents.
