Student Recreational Sports Center

An exterior view of the buildingThe Student Recreational Sports Center (SRSC) offers a multitude of ways for students to meet their personal fitness goals. The 204,000-square-foot sports and fitness complex, completed in 1995, is one of the country’s top recreational sports facilities. Its state-of-the-art equipment and facilities include:


  • Three multipurpose gyms
  • Five basketball/volleyball courts
  • Six outdoor tennis courts
  • Nine racquetball/squash courts, including two championship glass courts
  • Indoor elevated track for jogging and running
  • Cycle-fit studio
  • Free weights area
  • More than 400 pieces of cardiovascular, strength, and conditioning equipment

All registered students are automatically members. The SRSC also has numerous job and volunteer opportunities for students who want experience in recreational sports management.

The Counsilman/Billingsley Aquatic Center in the Student Recreational Sports Center (SRSC) features state-of-the-art aquatic facilities, including an eight-lane Olympic-size pool and a diving well with multiple springboards and platforms.SRSC members are welcome to use the aquatic center, which is also the home of IU’s varsity swimming and diving programs.
